BGB WIN QUEENS AWARD

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category has been awarded to Grantham  manufacturing company BGB Engineering Ltd.  The Lincolnshire company has been approved by Her Majesty The Queen on the Prime Minister’s recommendation for excellence in the field of overseas trade.  The award is in commendation of the fantastic continual exporting ability of the company which maintains export figures of over 90 per cent of turnover year after year.

BGB Engineering Ltd designs and manufactures electrical slip ring assemblies and lightning protection for rotary applications, underwater lighting and camera solutions, and wireless ethernet bridge systems for the transmission of high speed data or video links. The slip ring systems in particular have wide ranging applications within wind turbine technology. It is winning the Award for the first time for increasing its export earnings in excess of 100 per cent over three years to nearly £12 million per annum. This success has been achieved with a focus to supply sustainable markets, through continual product and process innovation, the use of market focussed technical agents and marketing activity with an effective enquiry generating website at its core.

BGB have built a good reputation for its products worldwide. Predominant European markets include Scandinavia, Denmark in particular, Spain and Germany in which BGB lays claim as market leader in the field of wind turbine slip ring packages. Products are being supplied to global markets such as Australia, India, Canada, Chile, Korea, USA, Israel, China and Japan.

The award encapsulates the truly global focus and expertise BGB have and the design technology that keeps BGB at the leading edge of Slip Ring, Brush Holder and Underwater Lighting & Camera manufacture.
