BGB MEET THE QUEEN!
On Monday 13th July 2009, two representatives from BGB Innovation were invited to attend an evening reception at Buckingham Palace. David T Holt, Managing Director and James Tupper, Marketing & IT Manager travelled to the capital for an evening organised to reward the winners of the Queens Award for Enterprise.
"It was a real honour to meet and talk to the Queen and The Duke of Edinburgh, a once in a life time opportunity. The Duke spent an entertaining five minutes talking to us about our work within the Wind Turbine Industry" said James Tupper. "Both David and I are proud to have represented the East Midlands, Lincolnshire, Grantham and British Engineering in general."
Other distinguished guests at the reception included The Duke of York, The Duke of Kent, Princess Alexandra and Rt. Hon. Lord Mandelson MP.

BGB Innovation won its Queen’s Award in the International Trade category in April this year. The firm specialises in electrical slip ring assemblies, brush holders and lightning protection for rotary applications and underwater lighting and camera solutions and was commended for achieving continual exporting ability and maintaining export figures of over 90 per cent of turnover year after year.
The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise exist to champion the UK’s most enterprising, creative and sustainable organisations – from all business sectors. Companies can apply for an Award in three categories – International Trade, Innovation or Sustainable Development. It costs nothing to enter, and The Awards are open to any UK-based business with two or more employees.
