QUEENS AWARD FOR ENTERPRISE: INTERNATIONAL TRADE

The Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the International Trade category has been awarded to Grantham manufacturing company BGB Engineering Ltd.  The Lincolnshire company has been approved by Her Majesty The Queen on the Prime Minister’s recommendation for excellence in the field of overseas trade. BGB ENGINEERING CROWNED EAST MIDLANDS WINNER IN 2006 EDGE EMPLOYER AWARDS

East Midlands firm, BGB Engineering, is the regional winner of the Edge Employer Awards 2006, winning a prize of £10,000 for further investment into training. Through its excellent apprenticeship and traineeship programmes BGB Engineering battled it out to win the medium-to-large business category and will now go through to the national finals to be held later this year. Edge is an independent foundation dedicated to raising the desirability and status of vocational and practical learning among 14 - 24 year olds of all levels of ability. See news page for more.

IMechE - MX2006 Professional Engineering Award for People Effectiveness

BGB Innovation scooped the award for People Effectiveness at the black tie event in London, described by the DTI Minister of State of Industry and the Regions, Margaret Hodge MP, as “The most prestigious event in the manufacturing calendar.”

BGB fought off major UK manufacturers such as Siemens, Reckitt Benckiser Healthcare and Sulzer Pumps to win the much coveted prize.

The accolade is reward for the world-class way in which BGB operates, rewards its staff and maximises the efforts of their employees and now means they can truly call themselves a ‘Centre of Engineering Excellence’. See news page for more.

Employer of the Year Award 2006

Hosted by LSC East Midlands (Learning Skills Council), the first East Midlands Real Success Apprenticeships Awards 2006 were held at The Walkers Stadium, Leicester on Thursday 17th March 06. BGB Engineering Ltd were nominated for the Employer of the Year Award (50-249 employees). Up against stiff competition, BGB successfully won the Employer of the Year Award for Lincolnshire & Rutland. Lincolnshire & Rutland Business Export Award 2005

Winners of the Lincolnshire & Rutland Business Export Award for 2005. BGB's export activity was recognised by the award of the winning trophy in the grounds of Lincoln Castle on the evening of 6th July 2005.
