BGB ENGINEERING WIND TURBINES - LIGHTNING DEFENCE

Robust brush holders that are designed to dissipate lightning energy and thus defend critical components (typically main shaft and yaw bearings).  Lightning will take the shortest route to earth, so the holders function is to divert its path away from the bearings.

There are two main areas within a turbine that need protection. 

The first is the main shaft bearings.  These are protected by placing our brush holder IN FRONT of the bearing (behind the nose cone).  The second area is to protect the bearings on the yaw of the nacelle.

Please note that within the pdf drawing, this product is listed as a 120A holder.  This is a continuous rating, as this product has many applications.
