Natural light travels to earth from the sun at approximately 300,000,000 metres per second, having the same velocity as all forms of electromagnetic energy, which include microwaves, radio waves, x-rays, gamma rays, infra red and ultra violet waves. These differ from each other only in their frequency, or rate of oscillation and each is designated by its wavelength, which is determined by dividing its velocity in metres per second, by its frequency in cycles per second, or hertz (named after the first man to demonstrate experimentally, the properties of electromagnetic radiation)…”
